Since their initial founding in 2013 as First Coast Blues & Lindy Society, Bold City Swing has worked to spread swing & blues dancing across Northeast Florida; operating as a non-profit organization and welcoming people from all backgrounds. Swing dancing is a quintessentially American art form that developed in parallel with jazz music of the early 20th century. The dance takes its name from the swing beat of that era’s jazz music. Swing encompasses many different dances, most notably the Lindy Hop. With rare exceptions, social dances proceed without planned choreography. Instead ,the flow of the dance is the expression of the partners’ reaction to the music. Swing dancing has steadily grown in popularity in recent years, and there are abundant opportunities for social dancing in Jacksonville and the surrounding region. As a toddler riding along with Mom in the car Godiva Simonic would belt out "Jesus Take the Wheel" with Carrie Underwood--clearly connecting with "the baby in the backseat." At nine years old she landed a starring role in a children's music video and discovered a passion for entertaining. She spent three years training with the Jacksonville Children's Chorus under the direction of Darren Dailey. Since Godiva has studied in many camps and workshops, while taking home numerous singing awards and honors. She is currently a vocal student at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. https://bellagodiva.com

As an acoustic fingerstyle guitarist and singer-songwriter, the engaging Jesse Montoya plays a variety of genres including folk, country, blues and pop. Jesse was named “Florida’s Solo Artist of the Year - 2015” by Bridging the Music Productions. She was also featured in an August, 2015 Folio Weekly article; and in north Florida’s arts and business magazine, Arbus (January, 2016). A RAM favorite, Jesse’s performances are upbeat and heartfelt.  https://jessemontoya.com/   http://folioweekly.com/SOUL-TO-SPARE,13454
