Since 2000 the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts Vocal Department has earned numerous superior ratings at District and State choral festivals. They have performed for live television specials, including the World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on the Golf Channel and the annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony at the Jacksonville Landing. The Concert Chorale was the feature choir with the Jacksonville Symphony in a performance of J. S. Bach’s Easter Oratorio. Among the list of dignitaries for which the Department has given command performances are The Honorable Archbishop Desmond Tutu and decathlon gold medalist Bruce Jenner. DA’s Vocal Department provides the foundation needed for many graduates to pursue degrees in music at major universities throughout the country

Mere Woodard was raised on a well-balanced diet of the Beastie Boys, Joni Mitchell, G Love and Special Sauce, and Simon and Garfunkel. In 2006, she left her hometown of Pittsburgh to follow the sun. Mere wrote her first album, Dance in the Rain, for her daughter. The album was released independently in 2013. In 2014, Mere dusted off her writing notebook and ventured back into the studio. Her 2016 album, Like the Sea, captures her eclectic, unguarded, indie, folk style. For this duo performance Mere will be joined by percussionist extraordinaire Alex Hayward.

Billy & Bella combines with spellbinding songwriting of Billy Daly and Bella Roux, envisioning California as both a symbol and setting for nostalgia and dreams. Musical elements include a contrast of the sounds of early spaghetti western style music and folk with airy guitar effects, with Billy Daly's lyrical and melodic leads in counterpoint to Bella Roux's rhythm guitar. The four-piece band blends vocal harmonies, Billy's warm tenor a blended counterpoint to Bella Roux's velvet contralto.

William Goin has made a number of recordings and appeared with some of the area’s best musicians. His music is a mix of old quirky, toe tappin’ traditional jazz and originals. This is his second River Stage appearance with Swing Bone.
